Trade turnover between Russia and India exceeded $63 billion over the first nine months of 2025

The figure showed a decline of almost 10% compared with the same period last year. The reason is the adjustment of global energy prices and changes in the volumes of crude oil and petroleum product purchases.

Data on trade turnover for the period from April to December 2025 was presented by Denis Alipov, ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Republic of India, at the beginning of June at one of the country’s major business events.

According to an analysis by the Russian trade representation, Russia continues to strengthen its position in the Indian market through supplies of oil and petroleum products, fertilizers and raw materials for the agricultural sector. India, in turn, is expanding its presence in the Russian market in the pharmaceutical and technology sectors.

The ambassador emphasized that the Russian and Indian sides continue to develop settlements in national currencies and strengthen economic cooperation.

"Our relations have a solid foundation. The key task at this stage is to ensure a balanced trade turnover by increasing exports of Indian products. The launch of joint digital platforms and marketplaces could provide significant support,” Denis Alipov noted.

Earlier, experts from the Russian trade representation in India concluded that 2025 demonstrated the adaptability of the two countries’ economies and the formation of a more balanced model of bilateral cooperation.
