"Rosatom" will sign Memorandum with India on Cargo Transportation via the Northern Sea Route
The memorandum is dedicated to the development of cooperation in cargo transportation along the Northern Sea Route. The corresponding order of the Government of the Russian Federation has been published on the official legal information portal.
"To instruct the State Atomic Energy Corporation 'Rosatom' to sign the said memorandum on behalf of the Government of the Russian Federation," the published document states.
The state corporation "Rosatom" is the infrastructure operator of the Northern Sea Route.
Earlier, head of Rosatom Alexey Likhachyov noted that the interest of foreign countries in the Northern Sea Route is becoming increasingly evident and continues to grow amid risks for southern routes. He recalled that intergovernmental formats for Russia's cooperation on the Northern Sea Route have been established, including with India.
